Challenge – Mini Book – Who Are You? (I really wanna know!)

Create a mini book following the rules but adding your own signature touches and post a link to it here, in the comments  = )

the ‘rules’

  1. the mini book must be at least 6″ wide by 4″ tall and at least 4 pages (including the cover).
  2. the theme for the mini book is “Who Am I?”.  You can leave it untitled or change the words to your own making just so that it means “who you are” in some way.
  3. Creating your book-  on each page use magazine collage/book pages/dictionary entries; anything that describes you in any way, things you love, that you would like to have, etc.
  4. You can do each page how you would like, perhaps in categories or just have the whole book filled with misc. information about you.

Have fun!  This would be a great way not only to get you creating-but also a fun way to get to know other artists.

30 Day Blog Challenge (plus all 30 questions)

30 day challenge

Day 8: A moment you felt most satisfied with your life:

Hmmm, Things have been so rough & such a struggle that this one might have to wait to be answered.  If I had to be put on the spot right this minute, I’d say 1994-1998.  Frank and I were relaxed, happy, comfortable…went a lot of places and had so much fun.  I really miss that.

Day 9: If you could have any job in the world what would it be?

Easy peasy.  I would be a freelance artist specializing in mixed media.  I would publish books and a magazine to get art journaling out to as many artists and artists who are afraid to try.

Holy Unfinished Art-Pieces, Batman!

I hijacked Frank’s i-phone tonight to snap some pics of  the ‘couple’ of unfinished pieces that I’ve got in the hopper.  I ran his battery dead and just in general, look like an ass lol.

If anyone has any specific ideas on one of them – like what the heck to do to finish one – I’d love to hear it.  I am very consistent about getting RIGHTTHERE and turning away and running.  Not sure why but I am terrified that those last few touches will destroy everything – especially on the ones that I really like.

In no particular order, here’s what I mean:

Unfinished collage girl

(above) this is my new favorite size/shape paper to work with.  It’s heavy weight Strathmore Watercolor Cold Press 6″ x 18″; 140 pound (300g/m)

Strathmore 6″ x 18″

2 page butterflies

I’m gonna work on some stuff before posting any of the others…it’s really eating at me that there’s so many in such a state!  What a mess, grrr.

30 Day Blog Challenge- a tad late – my bad

DAY 2

“where you’d like to be in 10 years”

London

For one, this is where I’d like to physically be.  I want to be a ‘full fledged’ Artist, published author and I don’t wish to be absurdly rich…but I want to be VERY comfortable, I want my kids to be comfortable and my husband to be so comfy that he can stop working if he wants to (which he wouldn’t-he’d go nutso).

So, this is where and what I’d like to be in ten years.  Unfortunately, the research Meg and I have done suggests that if you are an American wanting to relocate to England you quite literally have to have a BUTTLOAD of cash or you just cannot possibly move there.  In that case, I hope to move to Vermont.  It’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.  How about you??

How about you create an Art Journal page(s) about where you would like to be in ten years? Comment and link to your piece and I will blog everyone’s awesome art!

Mixed Media – Art Journaling Pieces

I’m spending a few posts on some of my Mixed media and art journaling pages/pieces, in various states of completion.  Many of these will be going into my Etsy shop (June 17th) as originals and prints.
