Challenge – Mini Book – Who Are You? (I really wanna know!)

Create a mini book following the rules but adding your own signature touches and post a link to it here, in the comments  = )

the ‘rules’

  1. the mini book must be at least 6″ wide by 4″ tall and at least 4 pages (including the cover).
  2. the theme for the mini book is “Who Am I?”.  You can leave it untitled or change the words to your own making just so that it means “who you are” in some way.
  3. Creating your book-  on each page use magazine collage/book pages/dictionary entries; anything that describes you in any way, things you love, that you would like to have, etc.
  4. You can do each page how you would like, perhaps in categories or just have the whole book filled with misc. information about you.

Have fun!  This would be a great way not only to get you creating-but also a fun way to get to know other artists.

A Tweak Here n There

Rise Above on 10x10 stretched canvas

‘Rise Above’ I started this piece last night, you can see it and others I started last night under the new page for September 2011 art; under the ‘My Art’ parent tab. (read below)

Please take a little note and a look at the Pages menu as I’ve made a couple of changes and additions.  Under the About tab it will drop down to a new nesting page “Personal Photos” where I’ve added some of my favorite shots of my family doing the things that make me adore them.

Under the tab “My Art” I have added a ‘September ’11 Art’ page just for the pieces that I am working on/finished this month.  I will continue to nest monthly pages this way so I can better track what I’m doing, and to have a nice, neat place to keep them.

Thank you – I welcome any comments on anything, especially opinions on the artwork…I am trying to improve and really need all the feedback I can gather!

Holy Unfinished Art-Pieces, Batman!

I hijacked Frank’s i-phone tonight to snap some pics of  the ‘couple’ of unfinished pieces that I’ve got in the hopper.  I ran his battery dead and just in general, look like an ass lol.

If anyone has any specific ideas on one of them – like what the heck to do to finish one – I’d love to hear it.  I am very consistent about getting RIGHTTHERE and turning away and running.  Not sure why but I am terrified that those last few touches will destroy everything – especially on the ones that I really like.

In no particular order, here’s what I mean:

Unfinished collage girl

(above) this is my new favorite size/shape paper to work with.  It’s heavy weight Strathmore Watercolor Cold Press 6″ x 18″; 140 pound (300g/m)

I’m gonna work on some stuff before posting any of the others…it’s really eating at me that there’s so many in such a state!  What a mess, grrr.

Mixed Media – Art Journaling Pieces

I’m spending a few posts on some of my Mixed media and art journaling pages/pieces, in various states of completion.  Many of these will be going into my Etsy shop (June 17th) as originals and prints.
